I've been looking for a good budget buy primer for a while but haven't managed to find one that I like. I'm quite fussy when it comes to the consistency of a good primer product- I don't particularly like gel based ones and other creams that I have used, I feel are really heavy and oily on my skin. So on a whim I purchased the Nivea Hydration Primer. I love Nivea products, so I had high hopes and it really didn't disappoint one bit. It has a really light cream like consistency- so nothing too heavy which is a big plus for me but at the same time helps moisture the skin which is down to the clever little hydrators and vitamins in this primer. It creates a really smooth base for the application of make up, absorbing really nicely into the skin. I also find it fills in pores and fine lines really well, helping to create that 'flawless' complexion. I have quite large pores around my nose and after applying this they are almost (it doesn't work miracles but is great nonetheless) invisible once foundation is applied.
The longevity of the primer is excellent, it truly does help your make up stay in place pretty much all day -with a blot of powder here and there.
So all in all I am really impressed with this primer and having almost run out now, I will definitely be purchasing another and at £3.99 in Superdrug at the moment you really can't go wrong!
As a side note there are two different kinds you can get. Normal to Combination skin version, which is the one I have and the other is for Dry/Sensitive Skin (in a little pink tub). It has also been recommended by Cosmopolitan readers, so it really is worth a try! :)
